Shifting Gears Rally and Gala Raises $$ for Myotonic Dystrophy in 2016

The Shifting Gears Rally occurred October 6–8 2016 and featured 38 vintage and exotic cars travelling the scenic back roads of the Bay Area to raise awareness and funds for the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (MDF). The weekend concluded with a sold-out Gala and a successful live auction.

The MDF is a San Francisco-based nonprofit patient organization founded in 2007, dedicated to enhancing the lives of people living with myotonic dystrophy (DM), a genetic disorder that can affect all of the muscles throughout the body, as well as cognitive and intellectual ability, sleep and mood. There are different types of DM, ranging from milder forms of the disorder, which can cause transient muscle pain and other complaints, to much more serious forms of the condition which can cause severe loss of function, and potentially life-threatening conditions at birth.
