This year’s Shifting Gears Rally will encompass two days of driving and dining in Mendocino and Humboldt counties in beautiful Northern California. Our base will be picturesque Garberville, nestled in the redwoods on Highway 101, three and a half hours from Marin County.
After breakfast each morning, expect a leisurely-paced drive featuring beautiful back country roads, quaint towns and wonderful vistas, with lunches included, of course.
Participants will stay both nights at the Benbow Inn. We will enjoy scrumptious dining experiences on Thursday and Friday night. As always, there will be ample time to enjoy the comradery of fellow drivers. In addition to the camaraderie of an automotive rally experience, the 2018 Shifting Gears Rally raises funds and awareness for its beneficiary partner, the Northern California chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, funding scientific research, and providing vital resources and aid to those affected by suicide. All funds contributed on behalf of this event will go directly to supporting these initiatives in and around Marin County. The cost will be $1,500 per car, including two tickets per entry to our charity dinner auction scheduled for Saturday, June 9th.
